It provides an external perspective to a goal and helps with several paths to achieve them. Coaching is about getting the very best out of you and enabling you to make decisions that will improve your life.

In coaching, you will be asked to come up with goals and the coach supports you by using various tools to discover and achieve those goals.

Therapy looks more from the past to the present and helps in healing and mentoring deep dives on a subject matter/topic. Whereas coaching helps you look from present to future which helps move in the right direction to achieve your goals.

You should sign up for coaching only if you are willing to work towards your goals and willing to act and make changes in your life. Achieving goals takes time. You must be willing to be patient and work towards them. Change is not always comfortable, but the results are usually truly astonishing and must be embraced.

Coaching is not for you: If you are undergoing therapy and need medical help If you are not willing to set aside some time to diligently work on the actions for the goals set by you If you are not willing to embrace and bring the change in yourself. As the saying goes, only you can change yourself.
